Whats the difference between OSRAM POWERSTAR HQI-T 250W DAYLIGHT and OSRAM POWERSTAR HQI-TS 250W DAYLIGHT?
what does the T and TS mean. Also where can I find out the dimensions of these bulbs. I've checked out the osram sight already. |

T means Daylight (from the German - Tageslicht)
S means Shielded (UV barrier) |

Daylight refers to the temperature. Usually a 500k to 6500k lamp is daylight.
Goto the osram or ge-lighting websites for detailed explanations of these things. |

The upper-tier HQI-TS lamps don't have an external envelope....
Or do you mean UV-coated. |

Take a look at this: http://www.osram.no/brosjyrer/english/K01KAP5_en.pdf
The -T version is larger and got an E40 socket, -TS is two-sockled. Both seems to have UV-filter. Not sure wether daylight means /D, /NDL or /WDL though, that defines the color temperature. |

Pardon the typo,
Daylight is 5000k (not 500 k lol) to 6500k The shielding is from the quartz not an additional outer envelope. D was used for durable hence the T for daylight. Id select text but the pdf wont allow it - see attached. This is from an OSRAM document, other manufacturers may use other terms! |
