CTX Panoview 540 and 530's are good, 540 is better for video tho, easly stripped, would only use the 530 for desktop use and cartoons like futurama, that looks good on it.

640x480 both
530 = 9.5"
540 = 10.4"
contrast ratio 100:1, looks good projected
active matrix on both

cheers,
Ryan Edge

edit: i think it looks ok at 400" but if you dont like screendoor atall keep it smaller.

Hey Searcher321...

I have two of these Envision 5200ei monitors. I searched and found that the 5200e is good but not the 5200ei monitors. I will dismantle one of my 5200ei monitors this weekend to confirm as my warranty is out now anyway. Or have you tested the 5200ei already?

See my 5200ei : www.stevequalls.com

does any one know if the Liquid Video Monitor - E15LCD1 is the same as Liquid Video NEG A150X1?

I was looking at circuit city for the CMV1515/NEG A150x1 but found the E15LCD1 instead.

does anyone know if they are the same or if the E15LCD1 easy to strip?

for the DIY, DO NOT USE the Benq FP557.

Go with the version FP557V2!!!!!

The FP557 (V1) has connections on both horizontal and vertical sides that cannot be extended without buying an extension cable.

Default Re: DIY compatible monitors list

I successfully used a Samsung 530TFT:
50 ms response
Size 15"
Pixel Pitch 0.297mm
Brightness 200cd/m²
Contrast Ratio 250:1
Viewing Angle 120/110° (H/V)

Disassembly was easy. There is a small board that connects the X and Y that obscures a small part part of the display.

I used it for DVD/Video and for gaming. Good for video and adequate for gaming. Response is a bit slow, but it is still fun for gaming with the big screen.

I used the accessory power on my PC to supply the 12volt input for the board/LCD. The setup is sensitive to bad grounding... I had to properly ground the display board and OSD board or the screen would wig out and act like it was out of sync.

1024x768 xga
450:1 contrast
16ms refresh
.297 dot pitch
Analog RGB
140° horizontal and 110° vertical viewing angles
Built-in power supply
