Default Lg Flatron 1715s Help

I have an LG Flatron 1715s that i am thinking of modifying for projection...if i can get it to work that is....it seems to have a psu issue or something....it comes on has a nice image for the duration of about a second...then the power led flashes off as does the display....power cycling the unit consistently gives the same result! if anyone knows what could be causing it and a possible repair it would be appreciated! I dont mind soldering if necessary i just dont know where to start!

Check the capacitors. LG is known for having bad caps in the screens. Look for one of them to have a slight buldge at the top. If its not perfectly flat replace it. I used a radio shack cap in mine and it worked fine. Otherwise get a high quality cap from a place like digikey.
