Hey, figured I'd poke my head in and sign up for a new web forum. I come from a strong mechanical/math background, and have always been interested in home audio.

I signed up because I am looking into vacuum tube setups and simply want to know more info.

Specifically - are there any DIY kits for making your own setups?

I'm a tube guy, more or less, but I don't know what a "setup" is.

OK, you can do the maths and you can do the metalwork. The only thing that's stopping you from making some seriously good valve kit is inexperience and (I hope) caution. Don't worry about SY; he's an old fuddy-duddy who doesn't know what "set-up" means; over in the go-ahead UK (as opposed to languid California), we understand such descriptions. Welcome to the forum. You'll find plenty of opinions - just pick the one you like...

Lots of tube kit around (actually way more than SS). From full kits, to ideas needing an expression... what are your needs?
