Default Guess I'm getting myself back into this stuff

I've been playing around with junky audio equipment since I was a kid. I used to make my own crystal diod radios and shortwave FM transmitters. when I got older I started playing around with making my own speaker boxes but because of a lack of money and resources, they didn't always come out that great.

Presently I'm finishing up my BA at UC Santa Cruz studying psychology (cognitive). I also am a programmer at the college radio station. I've been doing a Science news show until recently, this summer I'll be doing a music show on saturday afternoons from 2-4pm PST.
The system I have now is just a hodge podge of equipment I've attained over the years I've been at school. I left my energy take-5 series at my parents house because I live with a bunch of college students and honestly, we can't be trusted. I did recently purchace the SI soundpads. They're really fun to play around with, its neat to listen to the dark side of the moon record from the record sleeve. along those lines, my housemate is an artist and she's going to make me 2 paintings and stretch the canvas over a frame with some foam core between it. It should make for awesome satellites (esp since dolby doesn't like the satellites to do much work). If anyone wants to know how they turn out or wants to talk about radio broadcasting, send me a line. btw, our station just got the go ahead from the FCC to bump up to 20k watts, woo hoo.

Welcome to the forums. Good luck in the broadcasting. Nice to hear about the power increase.
