Welcome Cossix
May I recommend Vance Dickason's The Loudspeaker Cookbook, fairly technical, but it explains about 80% of what you need to know about building your own speakers.
Randy Slone's book High Power Audio Amplifier Construction Manual also gets good recomendations.
I, as a newbie to electronics, have just started The Art of Electronics, By Horowitz and Hill, and this is very well written and comprehensive general guide.

As an (old-bie?) to electronics I still refer to it. It is full of practical wisdom.I, as a newbie to electronics, have just started The Art of Electronics, By Horowitz and Hill, and this is very well written and comprehensive general guide.
I recommend it to everyone.
