New Kid on the Block...

...and a total electronics idiot

does know how to solder, i.e. makes a soldering job work eventually (10 or more attempts)

pretty clueless about anything else electronical

and also a guitar player (or at least a guitar owner, capable of playing some notes and chords)

and make a living as an audio engineer, studio-based, recording but mostly mixing

grew up with tapes and SSLs etc, but most of my work nowadays is ProTools-based

Came across this forum looking for circuit designs, looking for solutions for my guitar rig's signal flow solutions

Well, soldering is an important part of our hobby, and you need to get it right. There is a good basic tutorial here. Good luck!
