Default Newbie needs help in Los Angeles - salvage Denon 5600 amp

I am a very new Newbie here in Los Angeles.

I know how to plug my receiver in, and know the difference between a transistor and a capacitor, and er.. there is something else I know... give me a minute.....

I just had the main processor board blow out on my beloved Denon 5600. They say the amp is fine, but the board is over $400 to replace.

Is there anyone who can help me salvage the amp section to rig it up so that I can use it as 2 or 5 channel amp with my other less powerful receiver? It should be simple to isolate the various channel inputs and hook them up to an RCA jack. I would love to shower my helper with a nice dinner as a thank you......

Also, if I cannot do that, I was thinking of purchasing kits to make my own amp. Anyone using the Hypex UCD 400 or 700's? How do they sound? Easy to assemble? Can I use any of the power supply or capicators in the UCD amps?

Jay

Hi Jay,

Welcome to the forums. Can't help with the amp but you might want to post it in another forum and you'll likely get a better response than here.
