Hi, everybody!

Another new kid on the block... I'm just getting back into hi-fi, actually. The last time I spent any real money on equipment was in the mid 70's. This time I did things a little different (backwards?). I bought a HT receiver and then started looking at speakers. After doing a bit of research, it seemed to me that most of what I liked I couldn't afford! Then I kind of stumbled across the world of DIY. (Betcha never heard this stuff before...

) Anyway, it seemed kind of the natural route for me to take, as I'm a hands-on type of person with a fair amount of woodworking experience. Very little electronics background, though.
I've decided to build a 5.1 HT speaker setup & have been prowing around here & a few other sites looking for enough info/ideas to get started. I'll probably ask some pretty basic/dumb questions at first but I will try not to be lazy & pester everyone. I'm fairly sure I can get up to speed with a minimum of kicks in the butt!

Sounds like you have what it takes to get yerself goin'

Sounds like an ambitious first project. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Wecome to the forum, i know you will get lots of help. The biggest hurdle to overcome is picking from all the choices.
