Hi there,
I am Thor, member of Talkbass.com and a Bass playing audiophile. I have 2 diy projects active, one is the 'Compact Bass Speaker Cabinet' designed about 11 years ago and published by Len Moskowitz in Speaker Builder found here. The other project, which is a rebuild of a musical instrument speaker cabinet, is the vehicle that drove me here. That project was published as a Radio Shack item, 'Building Speaker Enclosures' by David Weems, which is long out of print. I built that project in 1982, and the updates in speaker and cabinet design suggest to me that the performance can be improved at a reasonable cost with some diy design work, at which I am at entry level. I did have the opportunity to take an elective engineering course for non-engineers in acoustical design in college, so there is some rusty knowledge down there somewhere. I look forward to meeting some of your members, and expanding my driver and cab knowledge.

Welcome to the forum, Thor. Just be careful with that hammer.

I have used the hammer once already ... , but since I mentioned anEden WT 1000 Watt Bass amp, I think I can get away with it. What good is a Thunder God without Mjolnir, anyway? One noob question, is there no edit function to correct typos or layout on posts? I notice that the text wraps oddly on this board, compared to what I am used to, is there a function or editor selection to correct that? I am a bit of a stickler on getting my posts to look right, to be easy to read, and in good English, so sometimes I like to correct things I miss. Thanks for the welcome!

There is an "Edit" button on the lower right of each post, BUT it only stays around for about half an hour. After that you need to contact a moderator to help you. Welcome aboard, A lot of us are interested in instrument stuff!
