Hi,

Im Myles, a student in the UK, I am interested in audio amp design and am looking for help on my current project, namely an all fet mic preamp.

I hope to have fun and gain some useful knowledge while I am here and if anyone can point me in the direction of a 'fet god' then I would be grateful. In prticular my problems are with a fet differential amp, which I have constructed in multisim, and which works ok, but I cant explain how or why it works.

Thanks,

Myles.

Hi Myles and welcome to the forums!
Thinking of "fet god", Borbely and Nelson Pass come to my mind.
You might wanna look at their DIY-websites and dig through some very interesting articles/projects.

http://www.passdiy.com/legacy.htm
(esp. A75 pt1 and diyopamp.pdf)

If you have a specific problem to which you don´t find a solution in the database of the forum (you´ll find lots of information in old threads) start a thread in the "solid state" part of the forum.

How do you like Multisim for simulations?
Is it an easy one to use?

greets

Hi Jens,

Thanks for the info, I shall start checking stuff out on the forums and with the fet gods you suggest.

Multisim is incredibly easy to use and has an impressive library of components, Ive found no problem finding the parts I want to test out in my circuits.

anyone else with 'fet god' suggestions would be welcome!!

Thanks,

Myles.
