Default new to forum ( from Australia )

Hows it going, I came across this forum looking for info on Scan-speak speakers, which seems to be very hard to come by.

I am on a mission to create lounge room listening utopia and hope to find like minded beings as everyone that I know can't hear the difference between a $200 and $2000 component - or maybe I have been cursed with very pickey hearing ?

I have made a few pair of speakers using peerless drivers and just ordered my first pair of scan-speak tweeters - D2905-97. Can't wait to fit and try them out.

I have used off the shelf 3 way cross overs and would really like to learn more about how to build my own.

My favorite listening aparatus - Arcam cd33t, arcam a85 amp with nad c272 power amp, van den hul d102 111 interconnects and 2 pair of home made 3 way speakers .

Welcome to the forum. You should be able to find plenty of help here for your loudspeaker quest.

Cal, just because we have Christmas in the middle of summer it doesn't mean we do everything upside down!

barn,
Have you seen this website? I just did a Google search. Seems like they're in Adelaide too.

Thanks Audiousername - yes I have that web site on the favorites list but it has no info on Scan-speak . Wagner electronics in Sydney have a good site (wes.net.au)and heaps of good stuff available.

I have installed the scan-speak tweeter and its a beautiful thing, I'm considering trying a scan-speak mid range driver next - 13m8640.00 - has anyone tried it ?

Cal - using an upside down toilet in Australia can be a bit messy but otherwise it a great place to live.

Been building t-lines since 1975. My 1st was a Radford S90 copy using Philips drivers .... myself and a couple others have been playing with phase plugs for 3 or 4 years -- i am the visible front end for a growing line of PPs made from (mostly) locally native woods that is all salvage.
