Default Greetings from Singapore

Hi all,

First of all, let me introduce myself ... My name is Steven and I come from Singapore. I'm 26 years old and just graduated from a local university about 3 months ago. Unless there is a twist of events, I should be commencing on my first job in about a month's time. Soccer is my all time favourite sport although I do engage in other sports as well. Besides hi-fi and DIY audio projects, my interest also includes photography (beginner level) and the latest science and technologies.

How did I end up here ... well, I chance upon this forum while looking for information on DIY audio cables. After reading some of the threads, I was very impressed by the amount of information one can find here. But what strike me most is the friendliness of the members of this forum.

I am relatively new to hi-fi and DIY audio system. The one and only audio system (well sort of I guess) that I built was a class D amplifier using TI's TAS5010 and TAS5182 for my final year project in uni. I was very proud of the fact that I was able to built it and get it working. I was and still am impressed by the sound quality of the class D amp and hence wanted to build one for myself as the one that I built before belongs to the school. I hope I will be able to start on my first DIY class D amp project soon.

Although I studied electronics (majored in communication) while in university, I strongly believe that my knowledge is very limited at this point of time. Frankly speaking, I did not understand alot of technical terms and issues that are being discussed in the forum. Therefore I would be doing more reading and less posting for the time being. I hope that I would be able to contribute constructively to the forum and share with you my projects.

Well, you came to the right place. We recently installed a brand new Class D forum so you can read all you like there.
Ooh...and give the class A amps a thought too please.
Lots of them in the PassLabs forum

Welcome Steven.

/Hugo
