Default Greetings from Uruguay

Hello everybody!

I am an Electrical Engineer, 53, in Montevideo the capital of Uruguay. Uruguay is a small country tucked between Brazil and Argentina, on the northern shore of the River Plate.

As you may guess, my first forays in electronics back in the late 60's were vacuum tube audio amplifiers, and have witnessed the solid state revolution from its very beginings. My first computer program was a stack of 80 punched cards written in Fortran which solved the well known quiz of placing 8 queens on a chessboard with no mutual interaction.

I have worked in many areas ranging from discrete transistor telex designs, rf design in HF, VHF and UHF and project - system deployment, assembly language programming of the first generation of 8 bit microprocessors ranging from Motorola 6800 to Z80 to the MCS48 family from Intel. C programming came later both at PC systems developement and microcontroller product developement this time with the 87C51 family.

I am currently diving into DSP projects to which end I am working my way with the comprehensive product offering of Analog Devices, particularly the 21065L engine. I have the Visual DSP environment installed and am trying the waters before commiting to buy a developement kit.

I am married, three childen ages 25, 23 and 20.
Other interests are Astronomy (I am contributing editor for the canadian site Suite101.com in the topic Astronomy and Astrophysics http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/...y_astrophysics)
and science in general.

I love aviation and hold a private pilot certificate though I do most of my flying nowadays in my computer!!!
