Greets from rainy Sweden

Hello fellow audio DIY:ers, tweakers, general nuts

My name is Kristian Kjeldsen and i am 24 years of age.
I came in contact with electronics at a very early age(around 1), my dad worked as an engineer at AGA. As many others at this time, he was a DIY:er, building and modifying turntables, speakers, tuners and amps. He had a multitude of components at home, which sparked my interest very early. As a teenager i couldnt really afford to buy much gear, so i built my speakers and a solid-state amp from plans found in a paper. It taught me alot about troubleshooting and making boards, but the amp was never quite finished, when i bought my Harman/Kardan receiver a few years later the amp was still some PCB's laying on piece of cardboard lid.

I listened to my first tube amp when i wass about 17. I went to audition the Edison 60 at Mr. Andersson's house. I remember i thought it sounded good, but i wasnt "blown away" by it. For a number of years following this i drooled on buying a Edison kit, mainly because when i searched the net, i couldnt really find a lot of transformers or other specialty parts that i knew i would need, had i decided to design an amp myself.

Other things became important in my life, i played around for a number of years as a recording and sound engineer in a studio, where i got the chance to listen to some great studio gear, including the Manley Voxbox and the TL Audio tube mixing desk. Recently, the desire to build my own tube amp has surfaced again, this time the internet is virtually crammed full of small and big companies, offering various parts and kits. This and other forums are truly a great source of information and experiences.

I feel i should stop boring everyone reading this now, thanks for taking the time!

About your location: .... only people from Sweden realize that Sthlm is Stockholm.... just wanted to mention that. Most people think that Sweden is Switzerland....isn't that right, americans
