Default Hi from Glasgow

Hi there from Scotland, I've been reading many threads on these forums for quite some time now (probably about a year to a year and a half) and became a member about a month ago. I finally decided that it was probably time for me to start a wee thread of my own to introduce myself bofore i dive in and start threads on technical matters.

My main interests are in Loudspeaker design (that is the forum that I spend most time reading), playing bass, Hi-Fi (of course), PC games, music, my Royal Python; Alice, ale and single malt whisky. Slowly getting into the DIY thing, although I don't have many of my own tools at the moment.

I'm in a band called Monktus (for those of you that don't know; a Monktus is the resultant species from crossing a monkey with a cactis. See http://www.craighand.com/ for more info. We are a Glasgow based three piece, and for those of you who may be interested the band website is www.monkeytrouble.net/monktus where you can listen to a couple of our tracks and find info on gigs and the like.

I enjoy listening to a veriety of different types of music including a bit of funk, clasical, some punk and even some jazz now and again. Most of the music that I listen to, however, would come under rock/metal. This ranges from up-beat rock such as the Foo Fighters and Filter to the sludge that is Iron Monkey, Opeth's 10 minute + black metal epics, or the grinding black mass that is Sunn O))). I could go on for ages about my music tastes but I won't. Instead I will let you know that some of my fav bands are: Tool, Primus, Deftones, Tool, Boy Sets Fire, Isis, Earthtone9, Tool, Machinehead, A Perfect Circle......as you can see I like Tool a lot.

Anyway, enough from me, looking forward to posting in the loudspeaker forum and maybe starting a few threads of my own,

Steve.
