Hi to all from New Zealand, where we have to fix most things ourselves or pay considerable freight from other countries.
May I join by asking if anyone has access to a
PSS 1000 audio amp circuit?
I have one of these on my bench with a fault which I have tracked to a portion of the PCB but without the circuit it is difficult to know what should be going on there. I can compare the points with the other half but the 2 amps on the board are not symmetric, ie the tracks make it hard to compare accurately.
The amp blew the main fuse. When re-started burning electronics smell emanates. Track to 1w 680 resistor and too much voltage across it, but hard to see why.
Any leads wold be much appreciated
Thanks

See where the lower voltage end of the 680R goes. Maybe there's a shorted part there,
like an electrolytic capacitor, semiconductor, etc.
