Talking Hello from Manila

Hello Everyone!

I'm a materials engineer who's last brush with electronics was back in high school. I like building stuff though. So with the help of some of my friends I built my first audio power amp with a 22w TDA1554 IC powered by a standard 220V 300mA AC adapter. It didn't take too long; but I am still ignorant with the basic design concepts

My next project would be an LM3886 based system. I hope to someday reach a point where I could build my own 5.1 channel system, but that's still a long way off, I think.

Gerry

Same from manila as well I have been into DIY since I was in high school, I stopped when I landed a job but now I'm back into it.

Recently built a GC using OPA548 chip and an OPA549 bridge parallel.

Hope to learn more.

Thanks

Default Hi neighbors

You're still young in electronics, just keep meshing circuits. I have been here since 1974 and employed in panasonic starting from vaccum tubes down to robotics.

hi gerry,

i built my first ss amp about the year you were born!!!

welcome to the forums, the lm gainclones should not be hard for you, you can build it using point to point wiring, no need to use pcbs.

just read on the chips section...

Default Mabuhay

Greetings from Manila,

I have been in this hobby since 1989 and married a year later. I am also a member of Wiredstate.com, a local audio forum under the handle Gandalf.

I am about to embark on a series of DIY projects that will hopefully take me to, as some say, "audio nirvana", "holy grail", "end-of-the-road", or as I prefer to call "sonus sancti". For the first project I plan to build a PP EL84 amp with an EL84 as driver ala Sakuma. The next project will be a fostex-based speaker and then a NOS DAC with transformer output stage. I'll definitely try the EL84s in PSE eventually for sure. These may not get me there I'm aware but once these projects are done it should give me good leads.

I am an IT specialist by training so I know I cannot do this without help from kind people as yourselves and I hope I too can contribute what little I have learned since 1989 to this forum.

God Bless everyone at diyAudio.

Mabuhay!

Sonusanti
