Default Hi

Just thought I would say hello to all from sunny Northborough, kind of middle of nowhere Cambridgeshire, England. Names Ian, for a job I am a FOH mix engineer and seem to be developing an interest in building headphone amps so hopefully I won't bother this august forum with too many stupid questions but can't promise

Regards
Ian B.

Hi Ian,

Welcome. Sounds like you are a classical music fan, or am I reading too much into your username? What kind of music do you do FOH mixing for? I've always imagined that to be a high pressure job (especially if the material is being broadcast, or recorded, or if its a big event).

Malcolm

Thanks Malcolm much appreciated, actually pretty catholic taste really but I do like opera, fortunately these days I mostly get to mix orchestra's which is great for me, usual picnic in a park mostly (in the rain of course) Chatsworth next week which is a lovely place. I have one 70's prog artist still working who insists on orchestra and choir along with his usual rock band so that can be a challenge. I am sure we will speak again as I lurk here trying to learn stuff.
Regards
Ian B.
