Hi everyone,
It's nice to see that this forum is here. I've been repairing electronic equipment for about 25 years and now i'm thinking of building some equipment for my own use. I figure it's a hobby that would keep my troubleshooting skills sharp. I'll be building all the usual stuff, tube preamps and amps, because to me thay sound better than 90% of the crap you can get at any of the stores. I have my house full of equipment, manuals, and parts and i've picked up a few tricks over the years, so i'll be trying to answer a few posts as well as ask some insanely stupid questions. And if i get carried away or go on a rant, Please feel free to hit me in the head with a hammer Thanks to all joe

Hi Hugo,
I've been repairing consumer electronics. TV's, CD's,DVD Players, all types of audio/video equipment. Ran my own shop for a few years.. Big mistake not buying the building. When lease renewal came they jacked the rent up so high i had to move/close, which was a good thing, I went to work for one of the companies that had a repair contract with me at the time. I got the same pay i was used to and none of the standard headaches, like taxes and payroll. Been there ever since. I've got a lot of equipment scattered through out the house and have always tinkered with stuff. But never really built from scratch. I have a few ideas of what i would like to build and have been searching the net looking at a lot of schematics when i landed here. Seems like a really cool place to exchange ideas and get feedback without running into too much snake oil and magic boxes. So i'm gonna search a few forums because the questions i have most likely have already been answered and if they haven't you'll be seeing me post a few. joe
