I just registered for this site, and its overall friendlyness compelled me to be friendly back. I already have TOO many hobbies, I guess one more isn't going to do me any harm. I have designed and built a sonotube subwoofer, and I've been thrilled with the results. It was about this time last year when I built my sub, and I'm really missing an audio DIY project, so I'm looking into upgrading the rest of my system. The pass labs projects seen very cool to me, and kinda sexy to boot, but I'm a little intimidated by the electronics and would like to educate myself fairly extensively before deciding which project I'd like to tackle. Also, if anyone reading this needs help with a DIY subwoofer, Homebrewing or Amateur Astronomy, I'd be more than willing to help.

I'm not into Astronomy but a great fan of the simplicity of the Pass
products. Try them! Welcome to the forum kevyjo /Hugo |

Well, I just registered to say hi.
I'm in Lawrence(and skool), so don't have much money for fun projects. |

I hope those 12 years weren't spent all in school
I'm considering building a GC, if I could just find a cheap transformer somewhere. Aside from the transformer, they don't seem to be all that cost-intensive. I also definitely need a better center and surrounds, and of course, I'd have to make L/R to match the center... Ever brew any cider? |

GC=Gainclone
It's a chip amp, with very few components. So depending on what parts you pick, they can be pretty cheap. Except for the transformer, arrrrr..... Only one class left, and then I've got lots of time for projects. We'll see if the MAME cab and some painting keeps me occupied until classes start up again, and if not, new speakers or amps may start appearing here. And I'm not sure how interested in homebrewing I am, but I'd definitely be down for some home-drinking |
