Hello from Birmingham, UK
Thanks to Mr Pass I found this site after starting an F5 amplfier project which is not yet complete, when it is I'll post some pics. To get the heatsink down to a reasonable size & cost, I use a cooling aggregate (fancy term for heatsink, cowling & fan) that is rated at 0.06 Deg. C/W. Fan noise is a problem with these coolers so I will use an Arduino controller, temperature sensor, and a PWM drive to the fan. Power supplies are two massive Farnell 300 W output linears, each has six x 2N3055s as the series pass element. The Arduino will also monitor the PSU rails for any significant difference, if one rail collapses the power input to both PSUs will be removed.
At the moment it's chassis work that's holding me up, I get occasional access to a friend's workshop.
