I've dipped in to the forums here on and off for a few years and finally decided to make an honest man of myself and say "Hello".
I've trained and worked as an engineer all of my working life and been fiddling about with audio reproduction since I was about 10 years old. My goal is to get the best sound I can for as little money as I can get away with so I tend to end up with a mish-mash of different hardware a lot of which is pre-owned or modified and nearly always ugly. My most recent projects have been a custom built TT in a vintage case and a closed box sub with Linkwitz transform compensation of the low end rolloff/Qt. This year's project will be a combined phono pre-amp, mic pre-amp and TT PSU in a single unit. My main system comprises: Audiolab 8000Q pre Roksan Kandy power amp (LF) NAD 3020 integrated (HF) Pioneer PD-D6 CD player Custom TT / Rega RB300 + Michell mods / Denon DL110 Custom sub 12" closed box with Hypex DSP plate amp NAD PP2 Mission 753 pre-freedom Anyway, that's probably enough about me. If anybody is interested in details about my recent projects I'll start a thread in the appropriate forum. In the meantime I'll post some thoughts about the PSU/phono/mic box I'm planning for this year. Toodle pip! |
