Hello people! First post here and looking forward learn more about my favorite hobby, DIY stuff
. As a college student my budget is very limited but nevertheless I have always managed to have my "not bad" AV setup.I started with a out-of-the-box Sony home theater, those with the amp built INSIDE the sub-woofer in a manner that when it was busted, the non-amp receiver and sub-woofer would end up in the trash. That was many years ago but kept the surround speakers and got a HK AVR 154 among many other stuff. This is my current setup. Keep in mind my non existent budget (thanks college!) and limited space 10ft x 20ft studio apartment. http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2223/img0502ys.jpg Toshiba 37 inch LCD - got it for sale $425 Harman Kardon AVR 154 - 200bux CaptiveWorks 800s - 99 bux Sony/Kenwood hybrid L/R tower speakers, surround speakers, center - inherited/free Sony 12" subwoofer - $129 PS3, xbox 360 and ps2 - given as broken, but fixed them Joined the forum to upgrade my setup with your help and learn the most I can by reading since I also work as a DJ at nights and learing the most about audio always comes in handy
