Default Hello all!

Hi everyone, I am new to diyaudio, but not audio. My ears have been working since I was born.
About me - Male, 5' 7" (1.7 meters), left handed.
Why diyaudio? Bought a integrated amp off the internet that was about 30 yrs. old.
It sounded horrible. Opened up the case and the boards were fried. The local audio repair shop quoted way too much money to repair the amp.
Buy a book and read-all-about-it. By the way, the book is "The audiophile's project sourcebook". By Randy Slone.
After reading the book multiple times, my head was spinning. Read more.
I am back down on the ground now and have assembled say 100 circuits on my breadboard.
The previously purchased amp is still in pieces but not forgotten.
Anyways, audio amplifiers is now my hobby and most would say 'obsession'.
Yes, the hobby has caused problems. Screw work, I want to build, build, build.
Thanks in advance for building the diyaudio. This is great!

Welcome to the forum!

It is a bit of a time-killer. I would have gotten out of grad school two years earlier if I hadn't gotten obsessed with building the biggest, baddest amp I could dream up.

That's where I started.

I used to work for B&W loudspeakers and saw the nautilus's in their full glory.

30 years later I am still striving towards perfection along the DIY route.

I've got Nivana with a home built Pass Aleph 4.

I can only afford B&W DM683s unless someone can convince me of a better DIY solution.
