Default Hello

Hello everyone.

I am looking to build myself some speakers and know diddlysquat about it, but I'm determined to learn. I've been reading some books and it's a bit more complicated than I thought. Doesn't help that the books were written 20 years ago.

I listen to music all the time, mainly from my PC. I have a high quality soundcard which I might even upgrade too. But I need an amp and speakers. I want good quality sound, not necessarily LOUD.

Because its a steep learning curve for me I think will start small by making a pair of single driver bookshelf speakers and work up to larger 3ways maybe with a separate subwoofer. The wookworking isn't a problem but I don't know how circuits and speaker ratings work yet.

First of all can someone recommend a good online store or one local to Perth Australia where I can get speaker drivers and amps.

Or.... is there a thread on this forum which lists sources for components etc.

Thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum Mr. Moo. Lots of Ozians here, they will be able to help. Like most of us thou, a good selection of bits usually requires the assistance of the postal service.
