Default Hello from Trinidad and Tobago

Hello there to the DIY community! am David and its a pleasure to be on this forum. My interest is in music, listening to it and trying to get it to sound as great as possible with the equipment that I have. am not as technically inclined as most of the Guys here seem to be, but I would like to try my hand at building my own speaker boxes. It sounds like fun and good wa y to try getting to where I would like to be skills-wise. Most inportantly, though, am here to learn and understand more about this particular hobby of mine, the science behind it, and that passion that drives us all in doing something ourselves. thank You for having me

Welcome to the forum!

Think about the style and size of speaker you want - then start reading the multi-way for fullrange forums. You may find a design there that you like.

Zwill,

Hello and welcome from a fellow newbie (~5 months at diyAudio forums)!

It is big fun and plenty of folks here are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to audio. But I warn you - building your own speakers can become addictive!

Have fun at the forums, and enjoy the music!

-Zia

Welcome to the forum David.

You are not the only speaker diyer in your country -- i've shipped a number of drivers there. Might be an oppotunity to audition some.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Guys. As a matter of fact, Dave, down here we have TONS of diy Guys who build boxes for pro, auto and commercial applications, so its not surprising that you have done business down here. Some of these Guys are VERY good, but they are way over my head, Lol! As for the addictive part, Zia, I know what you mean don't worry, Lol!!
