Talking RockerDIY says hello

Hello to all from the middle of Ireland. I enjoy listening to music, attempting to play guitar, simple DIY jobs and the odd round of golf.

My hi-fi system is about as simple as it can be:

Opus 21 CD player
Classe CA M350 monoblocks
B&W 803D
Silver interconnects, speaker cables and mains cables from Dalkey Audio
A DIY mains powerblock fed by a Russ Andrews mains cable

Recent addition is a Squeezebox Duet - music files are .FLAC and this sounds a lot better than a €250 box should!!

I have guitars by Fender, Epiphone, Tom Anderson, Aria and Taylor. For amplification I use one of two self built SE combos [one with 10" speaker, the other 8"]. It is fair to say that I am overguitared for my ability. But what the heck!

And you don't want to hear about my attempts to play golf.........

Thanks for the welcome Dave. My next hi-fi project is to install a dedicated hi-fi ring main in the music room. Also investigating the use of builders 220 to 110 centre tap earthed to power the PSUs for the Squeezebox. The digital cable from the Squeezebox to the Opus CD player also needs 'investigation'.

It seems that hi-fi is a never ending search for Nirvana......not to mention the Valhalla word.
