I'm not quite a newbie here but not far off and time I posted an intro.

I'm fascinated by the DIY approach to kit and have bought various people's projects - currently running a Pass DCB1 buffer, a SPSS-based DAC, and a custom plinth for my Garrard 401. I'm hoping to add a phono stage, and Shigaclone in the not too distant, and perhaps later an amp (Pass F5 maybe?).

The reason for buying other people's projects is that anything more than soldering a wire that's come loose makes me a danger to life and property, I studied music at university and though I got the basics of electricity at school electronics is a black art as far as I'm concerned.

Still I like hanging around here in the hope some of the expertise will rub off ... I've been tempted to have a go at one of the simpler Hagerman kits (Piccolo perhaps) who knows maybe sooner rather than later.
