Default Hi from down under

Helloo people.

I'm only here for a specific reason so please forgive me for being one of those that blows in and blows out leaving only one or two posts to mark my passage.

All the best to you all over the silly season, may your holidays be safe and full of cheer.

Mick

Hello MTP - and welcom to diyAudio!!!

No - I will not forgive you for dropping in for one or two post and then blowing outta here. You may not be aware of it just yet - but you have been enticed to snoop around what amounts to diy audio addiction. The first few answers come for free - but by then you will be wanting more - just a little more. Soon you will find yourself "just dropping by" for a couple of times a week - then a couple of times a day. In the end you will wind up with several projects in various stages of design or construction and reading threads that you will add to your "to do list". Be prepared to spend all of your money and exchange your current friends for the lot of us that hang out here.

If you leave we will track you down and tie you up with speaker cord until the diy borg has assimilated you.

Bye for now - and yes that is one of us that just dogged around the corner behind you.

Greetings, MTP.

I suffer from the illness above but don't want to be cured.

Haha yeah i know what that feels like mate. I already have an untreatable addiction to all things vintage pro audio. My addiction is more to microphones and old eq modules though, specifically british and german stuff haha.

But yeah i've already lurked around here , there are some interesting threads by interesting people so I may just end up being a more regular contributor.

Thanks for the greetings guys.

All the best over the silly season.

Living very close to "Music City" the home of Country & Western, Gospel, Blue Grass, and now even some of the "Rock" & "Rap" (even Kid Rock is hanging around these parts lately) I have heard rumors of alleyways lined with mic's and amps - and more than one disillusioned musician. C'mon down - you too can be an overnight success - after 5 or 10 years.

I know my stereo is better than yours. You can never win. Never had anybody as poor as me assembled such a system. I challenge anyone to defeat my poorness to sound ratio. Though I may pass my courses, my student loans do little more than advance my audiophile credentials.

Ahhhh - another true devotee. I'm not real sure what it has to do with this thread tho. I suggest (in a kind and gentle positive way) that you jump over to Ostripper's Mongrel thread and compare notes on how much bang can be squeezed out of a buck ($$$). OS is REAL goooooood at making a dollar stretch.

Moondog, check the Leak 600 thread in speakers.

C2C, mate i have heard rumors of the same thing.

My mate was over in nashville a while back and brought home a Royer and Coles ribbon, a U87 and some other goodies for prices i could not fathom. Apparently the hock shops and 2nd hand stores there are incredible.

he got jumped on by customs though when he came back through, sneaky pricks tried to extort him but he said nothing worked and they were for spares ahaha.
