You might be a DIY guy if
I prefer to buy better quality / interesting audio gear that needs repair over new. I can afford new and don't necessarily have the skills to repair the old is the symptom, notenuffgear-itis is the disease. I should fit right in here.

Like you I'm one of the minority repair types here instead of a scratch builder. Welcome. Power supplies and heat sinks are so much cheaper from the charity resale shop instead of from the electronic distributor. The rest is TBD. Good luck scrounging and then fixing or improving.
