Salutations from California

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to audio, and I'd like to learn a bit more about making chip specific amps/pre-amps. I have good electronics knowledge in that I identify most electronic components and equipment. I am also IPC certified in class III PTH and SMT soldering. Through the years of learning all of this however, audio based circuitry and equipment has baffled me for some reason. I hope to learn more about it... as long as someone could point me in the right direction first.
