Default Manteca, Ca NorCal Checking in

So I am finally getting around to restoring a couple old school recievers I have.

A Kenwood Eleven
and
A Kenwood KR-6030

The KR-6030 I have had set up in my garage for a while now listening to music while working in there but it has been getting worse for a while now.

The Eleven has always been bad and most likely needs a lot of work.

Anyone around me that can help me out? In Stockton, Lodi, Modesto, Ripon, Escalon, Lathrop, Oakdale, Riverbank, Tracy, French Camp etc.... I would love some hands on guidance as I am a fast learner.

Thanks everyone,

Gabriel

Welcome to the forum, Gabriel... you might post your questions about the receivers in the SS forum for more response.

Hmmm, I only know of a guy who does tuner repair/ calibration in SAC. Other than that, no sure about repair shops in the area.

Do you mean it crackles or pops when you change an control or when you touch it. If it is when you change the control, you might just need to clean all of them with a de-oxidizing cleaner. If it is whenever you touch the unit, hmmm not sure, maybe the grounding has gone bad or there is a DC bias in the power supply? I would imagine that the caps on this must be really old and leaky by now, so that would be a good place to start when thinking about replacing and upgrading parts.
