Hi All,
I have been lurking here for about a month and thought I should join as this Forum seems to hold such a vast store of knowledge from which to draw.
I live in Dorset, England and have now retired from (payed) work.
Electronics theory is not my strong point but I do wish to have a go at improving my amp, Marantz PM57, together with my CDP, Marantz CD48 which has now gone on the blink! I have posted regarding this but it is going through the newby's monitoring system at the moment.
I have no problems with the practical side of things so if anyone out there is willing and able to supply some answers to my questions I would be most grateful.
My TT is a 1973 Lenco GL85 which I have owned from new and which I have made a solid turned platter and have dampened the deck with copious quantities of Plasticine. (brilliant stuff, much more effective than Bluetac)
Speakers are 1973 Goodmans Magisters on which I had to replace the tweeters some 25 years ago. They are very good for adult rock as they go down to 23htz. ( they used to go down to 23cps but were somehow converted behind my back).
