I have a problem that I'm trying to sort out with my amplifier:
- I'm having trouble with only one of the two channels. - Some soft static that does not increase with the volume. - Not getting any sound from the tweeter of this troubled side. - The speakers, wires and other equipment has been shuffled around. - Without any inputs, the problem persists. Isolated problem to the amp. I'm using a basic NAD Stereo system (114 & 214) w/ Technics SB-L70 spkrs. I believe this problem is attributed to a faulty transistor, or circuit. I would be willing to test a few things out, but would like to simply close a weak circuit to fix this problem. Does anyone believe it could be a loose circuit issue? Thanks for your help, in advance. "Copper Neurons" |

It sounds like a blown channel. Could be a failed solder or you could have smoked something (a dead tweeter, if associated, might be collateral damage). Some of the techies might be able to point out a few things.
Where are you? We might have to hook you up with a tech. The NAD stuff sounds good, but to keep the price down, the quality of construction is not the highest, so 10-20-30 years on they are breaking (we just made 2 working 7020s out of 3 dead) dave
