Default Hello from North Carolina, USA

My name is Paul, and so far I'm floored by the breadth of talent and the quality of posts! I hope I'm worthy!

I'm 50, live in North Carolina with my dear wife, and I've been obsessed with audio since I was 12. At that time the cost of equipment was frightful. Then I found Audio Amateur Magazine, then Speaker Builder.
Since then, life has been a grand procession of mostly unfinished projects. (A dear, understanding, patient wife)

I have:
-Wired both heat-sinks of a Dynaco SCA-80Q upside down (1/8 watt per channel)
-Maintained the tracability, static neutrality and cleanliness of my vinyl pressings, until I realized the music was crap only a 12-year-old would listen to
-Burned out an Old-Colony crossover because I set up a power test while watching TV
-Built a pair of ACI Sapphire copies in '92 that I still can't beat, so those are what I listen to.
-Done a few gut-rehabs of KLH cabinets (don't worry, common models) and stuffed them with quality drivers.
-Did 3 months back in the eighties at a high-end audio dealer and learned that you have to be careful to charge enough money so the buyers believe you have quality

I'll be as helpful and to-the-point as I can, and I'll try not to wander like I just did. This is going to be a resource to execute my projects!

Thanks for Having Me,
Paul

P.S.: I'm building a humongous subwoofer enclosure in our attic that the wife doesn't know about...

Welcome!

I'm to the west of you in Greensboro. Seems like the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area has the most audionuts in the Carolinas.
