Newb from Norway

Hi,

It's time to stop lurching and start posting! I am an electronics engineer who never have had the joy of actually working with electronics. Now I am hoping to build some amps for my home cinema. Ideally I'd like to build a surround pre amplifier, but I have not seen any projects that support HDMI. I feel that it's better to buy a new receiver than build one with "just" PCM.

Please correct me if I'm worng, but you can't bet Dolby True HD and stuff like that from PCM, can you? (Source is PS3).

I also have a Marantz CD63SE which have been practically unused the last 5-8 years. Seeing the 499!!! pages of info on modifying it really makes me consider reinstalling it in my Home Cinema room.
