Hi Everyone.

After getting totally absorbed in the discussions in the Full Range speakers section, I thought I'd better sign up properly.

I'm currently in the middle of rebuilding/restoring a pair of Quad II power amps and now I'm having thoughts about what speakers to use them with. I'm now very glad I found this place

Welcome to the forum...

I have afriend with 4 Quad IIs (2 of them used to be mine, never should have sold them) driving 2 pair of Quad 57. I like taking speakers over to his house for testing.

Thanks guys.

I've coveted the ESL57s for years - I have a friend who uses them, but I don't think my Quad IIs have enough power to generate a decent SPL with the old, inefficient ESLs. I have my eye on some of Scott's BVR designs as it happens.

Got to get the Quads finished first though....currently halfway though re-building the first amp. The second amp is still in bits.
