Default Please allow me to introduce myself.....

Hello to all of you,

every once in a while i looked up the diyAudio Forum and i finally deceided to become a member. What really moved me to join was a link i found in the German Open-End-Music Forum, which i belong to as a member. Language is German, if it is of interest for you, here is the link:

The link i found was the 'LGT' Construction Dairy, i didn`t read all of it, but this was really remarkable. Let me tell you more about my favorite hobby at the present time.

I started out about thirty years ago with my first Dual record player and ended up in 1986 with a high-end-system also used by the (in Germany) famous High End Magazine "Das Ohr", which means translated 'The Ear'. The System was the 'Outsider System', a for way speaker system, active modified Pioneer D-23 crossover and mono class A amps.....

The outsider-team seperated and members of the team formed Omtec Audio. In 1988 i bought two CA-60 mono class A amps from
Omtec Audio. which i do still own. Over the jears Manfred Baier, the owner of Omtec-Audio, became a friend of mine, and in december 2007 i had the amps upgrated to version 3. I love the sound of the amps, they take even critical loudspeakers in a souvereign way.
i also have the phono pre and the preamp from Manfred. That is where the name OmtecFan comes from.

Well, to make a long story short, the whole thing moved on and i came up to a point where i started out thinking about building my own loudspeakers and maybe amps?!?!?!
Right now i am building two pairs of speakers, a bookshelf set and a set of bigger floorstanding speakers. It is not a complete diy project, since i bought the chassis and the crossover-plans from a manufacturer who sells sets like these.
Furthermore i have to say, i am not into electronics, i bought myself a couple books for the basics, but let me tell you, this is really dry stuff for me. But it is learning by doing it. So, that's another reason
for being here in this forum. I think i can learn a lot and besides that i can hopefully improve my English which needs some pratice.

so, once again hello
