Self Intro

Hello,

I've just discovered this forum and it appears to be a great resource. I'm into home electronics of all sorts: Home Theater, Hi-end (turntable front-end) audio, Home automation and electronic keyboards.

I started out playing with stereo equipment and building synthesizer kits (PAIA) in my early teens. This led me to engineering school and into a career as an IC Design Engineer - starting out as a bipolar analog designer and "ending" in mixed signal BCD (BiCMOS/DMOS) automotive IC's. I say ending because I've moved pretty much too far into management (Design Center Director) to the point where the only hands-on electronics I do now is at home!

To balance out the hi-tech stuff, my other main hobby is no-tech: I'm a fifer and commissary officer in the Kentish Guards (KG), a local fife and drum corp and historical militia, hence my username.

I'm looking forward to being a member of this forum, learning from it to begin, and maybe being able to contribute at some point.
