Smile Long Live DIY

Hello to everyone at DIYAUDIO.

I've been building speakers for a while and more recently extended this to include tube amplifiers. There is a great pleasure to be had from designing and making something oneself, and if the final product sounds good and looks good then it encourages others to have a go too. I have five nephews and the eldest two are just starting to show an interest, which is great.

If I express a view on something then hopefully it will be as a result of hands-on experience with a particular build or as a result of extensive blind listening. I live in Wiltshire in the UK and I'm more than happy for anyone passing by to drop in for a beer or a coffee and a chat about DIY audio.

My other passion is backpacking and camping wild; especially in the winter when the mountains are quiet. If I'm travelling solo then I get lots of time to ponder my next DIY project

I'm nearing the end of my current speaker project, so I'll post some details and pictures soon.

Hi Steve - and Welcome to diyAudio!
I lived in Ipswich as a kid and still like a good plate of bangers and mash (and a pint).

DIY audio can be expensive but getting to see things go up in smoke - that's priceless!!!! ..... "whatever - call it brainfart of Mighty ZM"
