Hello from North East Wales - not too far from Chester, England.
I have quite an old system. Since 1979 I've had a Rega Planar 2, a Sugden A48-II amp and T48 tuner, Linn Index 2 speakers. Elite EEI 500 cartridge but fearing the stylus is worn, I now use a Nagaoka MP10 with solid body. Arcam Alpha 3 and Tannoy 605's on my computer. Also have 'custody' of my brother's Heybrook TT2 turntable while his kids grow up (+ Linn Basik LV-V and A&R P77). Also a Leak Stereo 70 amp on loan from a colleague. I would love to build myself some transmission line speakers. I'd need to learn the skills, so perhaps a simple box might be better to start with ;) Also, the Rega 2 has the now-obligatory broken anti-skate control. I windered about fixing that myself, but the number of tiny parts in there is scary! (hope this isn't too rambling for a first post...) |

We have some of the world's leading TL experts hanging out here, Martin King, GM, Scottmoose, and i myself have a special spot for TLs. A TL doesn't have to be complex, an ML-TL, straight TL or single fold TL is really no harder than your basic sealed or BR box (some people actually confuse ML-TLs with BR boxes) dave

Hey, these archives are a massive resource, but they do take some wading through. Maybe I've not got used to the advanced search features yet. |
