I'm new here but not new to DIY audio in general. I've been involved in the DIY audio hobby for about 35 years. I have several years of electronics design, prototyping and building in my past as well as about 30 years experience repairing hi-fi and professional equipment and recording studios.
I have a great deal of experience as well as a rather large collection of parts and equipment that I would like to share with any newcomers or experienced personnel in my area. I can no longer do most of this work myself and would like to meet someone in this area who wants to build their own amps or speakers. I have a great deal of software for testing speakers, designing electronics (spice modeling), circuit board layout and just about anything else you might need to build a project. The software is all legal and registered to me and I will not give copies away. You will however be welcome to use it on my computer. If you're seriously interested in building amplifiers or speakers e-mail me your location and we will see if we are close enough together to be practical. There is also much repair work to be done in this area mostly on classic or collectible audio equipment. If you are interested and experience in this type of work please e-mail me. Steve Dunlap |

Hello Steve - and Welcome to the forums at diyAudio!
Looks as if we are close (I'm over in Smyrna) and we have similar backgrounds in electronics (and I'm still alive!). I'll get a PM together and see if we can get together and drive the wives crazy showing 'em our latest "masterpiece"

I know pretty much nothing about electronics but have made a few FX pedals from scratch and they all eventually worked, so I guess I can solder.
Was thinking I'd take the next step up and try a stereo amp for a really small home recording studio I'm putting together. From lookin through the forums here it seems like a pretty good place to check out. So hello to all |
