Default Introduction

Hi,

I've been coming to this forum for some time and thought it proper that I introduce myself. I imagine that a summation of what I've been doing in my work life would be the appropriate start.

I've changed jobs as circumstances have changed and therefore have had a rather diverse working life.

I spent several years as a tutor/mentor to Seymour Cray, helping and explaining the ins and outs of Supercomputing Vector Architecture. I left there after I was sure that he had finally grasped the fundamentals.

I subsequently moved to Southern California, where I was employed as a body double for Arnold Schwartzenegger in several of his action films. You may have seen my work, in the scenes that I appear, the images of me will show a small scar on the back of the left hand.

For the last 15 years I have devoted my time to a career as a Porn Superstar using my screen name "Miles Moore". I have starred in several Internationally Acclaimed Films such as "The Solitary Sheepherder" and "Bodacious Billy Bodine, Strip Club Bouncer."

Seriously though, I'm an Electronic Tech. for the Postal Service which is merely a glorified mechanic. I've been with them for 40 years and hope to retire someday. I also serve as a Commissioner and part time Manager for our local water district. My wife and I homeschool our children, and our oldest daughter (24) teaches Communications at an Eastern University. I spend time with my 13 year old son working on Boy Scout projects, and when I'm allowed to, I mess around with DIY Audio and Boatbuilding. I also enjoy reading History (earned a B.A. and M.A. in History way back when) and oil painting, woodworking and woodcarving.
Nothing too glamorous or exciting (I got all the excitement I needed during two tours in Viet-Nam), but it's my life and I'm sticking to it.

I was inspired to write this as a way to get Cal Weldon to say something civil to me for a change :^)

Best Regards,
TerryO

Something civil? Well let's see...

...nope, just not happening Terry, sorry.

Seriously though, for those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Terry, I must say he is one of the funniest and most practical persons I have met. He truly understands DIY and should be applauded for it. Along with his other ventures, that he has so kindly spelled out for us, he has an approach to audio that many of us could learn from. You won't find him late at night holed up in a dark room studying the latest graphs and charts but he has a way of making things work. A natural you might say.

Anyway, I've pretty much run out of nice things to say so I'll leave it there but just to say that we have shared some memorable things including a tree out at planet10's place, but that's for another time.

Cheers.

"Whizzer" discussion I'll bet.

Since I don't drink, Cal is probably referring to my personality. Just remember a bad, or even a toxic personality is better than none at all...Well, maybe

Best Regards,
"Toxic" TerryO

Oh, Oh...

Say Cal, my old friend, you wouldn't want to sell the negatives to those pictures would you?

Actually, Kevin Haskins needed a beer and I just held up a can to see if that's what he was drinking. Haven't had a drink for a number of years...But there was a time when I could outdrink even Kevin. Probably the result of too many years being around loggers I guess.

Like the lyrics to the song:

"My Lover was a logger,
There's none like him today...
If you poured some whiskey on it,
He'd eat a bale of hay..."

Best Regards,
TerryO

OK, let's be fair to Terry. No more incriminating pictures.

The rest I might need for evidence.

Just a little more than a week to go before Cal will be selecting a new "petrie" for the nocturnal necessities. He should be wearing his robe and crown as he leads the procession in this all-important opening ceremony.

Best Regards,
TerryO
