Just posting a bit of an introduction about myself. I got the DIY bug from my father before I had ever heard it called by its acronym. When I was five he bought me my first carpentry tools. He was a teacher educator but in the end of the 80's he designed a house and built all the post and beam framing in our living room from old 4x4's recycled from the torn down Jim Beam distillery. This taught me about garbage picking and about having the audacity to do things that most people wouldn't consider. Very good skills!

I've been a musician most of my life and got into audio when I was getting my undergrad degree in music. I worked for a live audio and lighting company and fell in love with it. I ended up continuing my studies and got a master's in composition. I started recording seriously in 1997 when digital gear was starting to get cheap. Now I teach audio production and technology at the New England Institute of Art in Boston, MA.

I would love to meet other people in the area to talk about electronic projects and make loud noises with things that plug in to stuff. :D

The thing that I am really interesting in right now is documenting what I learn from doing my projects on my blog ( http://www.stuDIY.tv ). One of the fun projects was a small portable PA speaker design: http://www.studiy.tv/?p=10

Anyway, I am still producing music and writing some myself. As long as I can continue to avoid working at a retail chain, I think I will be happy!

Best,

Hendrik:D :D
