Hello from the Midwest

I've been reading postings for a while and thought I might as well sign up. I have always been interested in sound. I grew up in radio broadcasting (literally! I was repairing broadcast transmitters while in grade school), I have done much live mixing and I am a performing bassist. I build a lot of my own gear because I want to. Sometimes it saves money and often it doesn't, but it is very fulfilling to show off my handiwork now and then.

I had a subscription to Audio Amateur and Speaker Builder magazines in the 70s and 80s, and enjoyed them very much.
