New guy in Ohio needs car audio help!

Hello everybody.
I live in New Philadelphia, OH and have a new Honda Ridgeline that I have some questions about. My system is almost done, but I have been hitting some roadblocks when it comes to the subs.
I am 31yrs old and have not messed with anything audio system related in well over 10yrs(except replacing factory head units). I used to install audio systems when I was 18, but after searching the threads here I am realizing that either, I never actually knew what I was doing or things have changed a lot since then. I've got 3 specific questions, but being new to the forum thing, I dont know if I should ask them here or start a new thread. Already did a search for answers in the car audio threads with no luck.
