My bass guitar puts out over 2V peaks easily with volume knob turned up and some finger picking. But playing softly keeps the singnal in the hudreds of mV range. But a guitar played heavily, expecially chords, should be capable of output over 1V too.

Thanks. Tried it.

Built a non-inverting stage with a LM358 with gain 10x.

Plugged this into my LM4780 stereo amplifier.........

Voila.... sound, not brilliant, not good, but there!!!

There is a soft fuzz effect behind the sound of the guitar, but i suspect that it is the prototyping board I'm using!?

1Meg

It's a VERY basic circuit. Input to GND = 1M

Gain is with a 10K and a 1K resistor. Nothing else

P.S. Just grabbed a LM358. I figured, its a guitar amp, not a Hi-fi.

I wasn't looking for performance, yet. I want to play around with the circuit first so if I blow something its not a biggie!
