Sure, the valve rectifier can sound better, but if you are sitting on the fence, you may find solid state easier. Put some resistance in series (leading out from your bridge, maybe 50 ohms per side) and gain partial emulation of the valve sound. The resistance is not a bad idea anyway as it damps the ps filters.
