Hi,
I am building a plexi 50 watt and am working out my options.
On the thunder tweak website they have done some modifications on the 50 watt plexi and have sent the first gain stage directly into the next(their version is only single channel).

ModifiedPlexi:

Normal Plexi:

I was wondering if I could have a 2 channel (normal, bright) amp like a normal plexi, but have a switch that in positon 1 it would:

Send the signal from Normal volume pot(1M) to the 470k mixer resistor.

And in position 2 it would:

Take the signal from the Normal volume pot and send it straight back down into the gain stage for the bright input(pin 7 V1), like the thunder tweak version.

But, would having the normal signal being fed into the bright gain stage screw things up if I had something plugged into the bright channel?

Would this idea work, or do I have no idea what I'm talking about?

Thanks guys
ed

you could try using a dpdt switch and use the other set of contacts to disconnect the bright input jack when you are in the high gain position.

If you just use a spdt switch and you have something else such as another guitar pluged into the bright input it will be like putting a resistor ( and some inductance and capacitance ) at that point and tying the other end to ground.
The some of the signal from the normal channel will be sent through the other guitar and you might even be able to change the sound of overdriven signal by changing the tone, volume ,and pickup settings on the unused guitar.
